Why Organic?

There are many reasons for choosing organic foods, including reduced exposure to pesticides and fertilizers, improved environmental conditions for animals living near farms, and supporting sustainable farming methods such as water and energy conservation.  Here in the Garden, we also believe organic produce just tastes better!

Produce that is USDA certified organic is grown using natural fertilizers such as compost and manure, not synthetic or chemical fertilizers.  Weeds are controlled naturally by crop rotation, mulching and tilling, and not by using chemical herbicides. Also, when farming organically, pests are controlled using natural methods including traps or insects, not harmful pesticides.

One of the benefits of juicing is that it concentrates all the vitamins, minerals, enzymes and chlorophyll of the vegetables and fruit into the juice.  However, it also concentrates any pesticides and herbicides that may have been used during the growing process. These pesticides and herbicides can't be washed off, they are in the flesh and seeds of the fruits and vegetables. In order to make the healthiest juices, Garden of Flavor only uses USDA certified organic produce.
